    Q & A

Can you store left over stews?

Yes, you can store untouched stew in an air tight container. They will stay fresh in the fridge for 3 days. For seafood stews, no more than 2 days.

There are many variations to stews, is this common?

Yes, homemade stews have more variations than the restaurant ones. That’s the beauty of homemade. You can adjust and modify the ingredients and seasonings to your liking.

Do Korean restaurants use MSG in stews?

The answer is most likely Yes. Many chefs use MSG into stews and soups in Asian cuisine. Mostly to bring out the flavors of the dish and make it more appetizing. From my experience, I do feel that adding MSG tends to increase the savoriness and sweetness of the dish. However, I don’t use it in my cooking because it tends to make my tongue feel funny afterward. So, if you have sensitives to MSG like me, I suggest making your stews from scratch. This way, you will know exactly what ingredients went into your food.
