- Jasmine rice
- brown rice
- white rice
- cauliflower rice

Can I use fresh veggies instead?
Yes, you can use fresh veggies, but it will lengthen the cooking time and the final texture may not be the same. Since frozen veggies have been blanched a bit, they don’t need much cooking time on the stove top. This really helped save on my overall cooking time and energy. Not to mention that the veggies stayed bit on the crunchy side, which is what I personally like.
What are the key ingredients for this recipe?
Bacon and butter have to be the key ingredients next to rice. And we all know that when scrambled eggs mixes with bacon and butter, there goes umami flavor punch!
Can I make this fried rice recipe gluten free?
Yes, you can make this recipe gluten free by substituting the soy sauce with coconut amnios. And use bacon that are labeled gluten free.
Want delicious results? here are some tips!
- Try to avoid using soggy rice, or rice that is watery. It will not become fluffy, instead stick to the pan while cooking.
- Use a well-seasoned wok or skillet with coating and wooden spoons.
- Keep the veggie colors vibrant by not overcooking this dish.
- Don’t overcook this dish, or the veggies will not stay firm but mushy.
- Do not add any water. Since you are adding frozen veggies, there will be enough moisture as you cook.
- Avoid using a lid. Again, since frozen food will have plenty of moisture, using the lid may create too much moisture, hence making the rice soggy.
- Make sure you cook the fried rice on a hot pan. Preferably medium to high heat temperature. Low heat will not give that deep fried rice flavor.
